The network makes the internet browsing experience much easier for the content creator and those who consume content. Gone are the days when the website loading speed was not satisfying.

And people have to wait for a long time in order to consume content. But whenever the CDN arrived, we saw the end of that obstacle. But what does Content Delivery Network (CDN) really mean, and how does it work?

What Is Content Delivery Network (CDN)

To simply put, the content delivery network, or CDN, is a combination of a few network servers. With the help of these servers, people who are located near the servers can browse or access the internet comprehensively, no matter exactly where the main browser is located. Sounds good?

In addition, the main motto of the content delivery network or CDN is to make the web page performance to the next level by ensuring the loading speed. Furthermore, it is also ensured that people can consume any type of content hassle-free using the content delivery network.

In case, the content delivery network is a geographical distribution of different web servers. This means when content is created, the content should be equally distributed to the geographical server connected to the main server. And people, no matter what region they belong to, can access the content.

But, you may wonder what the need is for the content delivery network web we have a web hosting primary web server. In order to run your website, it is a must you host the website on a server. Whenever you create any content on your website, the content is stored on the server.

But for graphical locations, not all people consume the content fast and comprehensively. And here is why the content delivery network can come into play. You’ll better understand facts if we explore how the system works.

How Does Content Delivery Network Works

You can better identify the concept if you think about the scenario. Let’s say you have created an automaton-related blogging website. This is a website where you publish different content like cars, car’s parts and issues related to automation.

In addition, let’s assume that the server you’re using is located on the north coast of the United States. In this case, people who browse the internet live on the South coast are more likely to face difficulty as the server is far away.

Here, the content delivery network (CDN) works between the web browser and the web server. Now, let’s say one of your visitors searches with a keyword in which your web page is supposed to rank. However, if there is no CDN, it will take a long time for your visitor to access your web pages.

But thanks to CND, who first accepted the searcher queries and looked for the appropriate result. First, when you first search for a specific keyword, the CDN sends the request to the main server, and the main server accesses the request and sends the result to the CDN.

The CDN then sends the output to the searcher’s browser, so your visitor can consume your website content within a few milliseconds.
